My only way to connect to the Play Store is through VPN software. When I disconnect I frequently get messages saying "Play security information update" from the Download Manager. Connecting to the VPN does not allow these to proceed, and I have to cancel them to unblock regular updated which work just fine. I can uninstall and reinstall the software the security information update is for to make the message stop popping up, but this is annoying when I have to replace an app on the home screen, and infuriating when I lose a ton of configuration information in the process.

Is there any way to make the Play Store, or whatever app is responsible for this, just use the VPN connection? I can understand if a security model means that you don't want to allow other apps to redirect the connection, but the user should be able to specify exceptions to this, manually, somehow.
