I have a G955U Galaxy S8+ AT&T Factory Unlocked on Android 7.0

Baseband Version: G955USQU1AQC9 Android Security Patch Level - April 1, 2017

I no longer live in the US, and currently in the Philippines. Phone works great and the signal is too and all, but I cannot get OTA updates. Every time i try to update it says that its up to date.

I have tried different ways to update it that i read online, The latest one that I have tried is following the steps given from this Thread but it gave me this output https://prnt.sc/oqjnp6

My phone is not rooted or anything just a normal phone. I am just trying to update it to the latest Android Version 9.0(Pie) , I just made this thread for the reason of maybe someone can help me on updating my phone.

I also have tried updating through SD card and Smart Switch but none of it works, On Smart Switch it says that my device is up to date :QC9(ATT).

  • Already answered here: no AT&T connection no OTA update... Conclusion: Never buy again a branded Android device. – Robert Aug 15 '19 at 11:44
  • @Robert does this prevent Odin/Heimdall from flashing other carrier? fw.updato.com – alecxs Aug 15 '19 at 12:28
  • @alecxs I don't know. US MNOs like AT&T and Verizon are known to lock down their devices. But if this applies to each and every device model who knows? I don't have any personal experience with such devices. I would assume that without unlocking/rooting images from other carriers won't be accepted by the device. – Robert Aug 15 '19 at 12:35
