I'm trying to mount factory images for Pixel devices. Specifically, 10.0.0 (QP1A.190711.020, Sep 2019).

I got some instructions from here.

simg2img system.img system.raw
mkdir system
sudo mount -t ext4 -o loop system.raw system

This works great for Nexus images. However, I get an error when trying to mount a Pixel image.

mount: /home/nato/Android/Images/blueline-qp1a.190711.020/image-blueline-qp1a.190711.020/system: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop57, missing codepage or helper program, or other error.

So... How do I mount a Pixel image?

  • Can you run strace on mount command? What does file system.raw show? Is ext4 magic identifiable? – Irfan Latif Sep 4 '19 at 3:52
