I've a device which runs Android 6.0.1, and officially it did not contain any Google Calendar application.

The device is a Boyue Likebook Muses T78D.

It has Google Play access, so I could install the calendar itself, but it requires the Calendar Storage application.

I could also find the Calendar Storage for 6.0.1, but the device is not rooted so I could only install it as a user application.

This is obviously not fine for the Calendar application and the device is not that popular so rooting is not (easily) possible (I have no idea if it is possible at all).

What I would like to achieve: having some calendar widgets on the homescreen with events from the Google account.

What would be the easiest way to solve this?
