I have found a .android folder in my home directory with two files: adbkey and adbkey.pub Is there a way to move these files to a different folder.

After first installing Android Studio I noticed this folder but was able to move it by creating an environment variable called ANDROID_SDK_HOME. Recently however the folder reappeared with the adbkeys. If I delete the .android folder it is recreated when I launch Android Studio.

  • Why are you trying to prevent creation of this folder. And even if there would be way what about the other folders created by AndroidStudio like .AndroidStudio3.5 .gradle .m2? – Robert Nov 10 '19 at 11:33
  • adb is just looking for the home location $HOME / %UserProfile% when $ANDROID_SDK_HOME is not set, and recreates adbkey each time when not exist in .android – alecxs Nov 10 '19 at 13:11
  • I am just trying to keep my home directly tidy. There are ways to move the other folders created by Android studio see this blog (littlecpu.com/android-studio-c-drive) – Jen Scrivener Nov 11 '19 at 8:12
