I need to recover deleted files from samsung android phone but it have damaged usb port and no root privs. Is there a way to achive this? I thought about cloning the internal storage to SDcard or via wifi to pc or recovering buy some android app but as far i can see all metods require root or usb connection or both. Also there is a chance of overwriting deleted file by some installed recovery app or configs. Is there some clever way of doing this?

  • Possible with broken USB port but not without root. – Irfan Latif Dec 15 '19 at 17:59

  • Is there a way to root the phone without usb? I guess it could overwrite deleted files – Jan Nowak Dec 15 '19 at 18:22
  • Given link and the links in the answer explain that what you are looking for is not very probable. Rooting usually erases everything making it irrecoverable, except if you can manage to get root access through some exploit without unlocking bootloader. Booting to Android largely decreases chances of data recovery due to overwriting. Whether rooting without USB is possible or not is a separate question, very device-specific, can't be answered generally. – Irfan Latif Dec 15 '19 at 18:38
