So my mobile phone lost my contacts when I synched with google contacts. Someone said that that the contacts may be marked as deleted so changing to active would show them. So I backup all app data to my PC as .ab file. How to open .ab file? Screenshot How do you extract an App's data from a full backup made through "adb backup"? shows it is possible to use Droid Explorer to unpack .ab to .tar files.

Installed Android Studio including SDK Tools

Install Droid Explorer- 1. It asks for install path in dialog path but browse does not show the hidden directory C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk 2. There is no entry for Droid explorer in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node 3. There is an entry Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DroidExplorer\InstallPath which I have changed but doing install Droid Explorer looks for the install path under the WOW6432Node but this is missing.

Any ideas

Thanks
