My cell phone is a Sony Xperia XA1 and it has Android 8.0.0

I think that when I got the phone the manual might have said that the phone has built-in protection from overcharging. But I am not sure.

I used to think that it was safe to leave my cell phone on charge when it is at 100% because it has overcharging protection. But someone once told me that it does something like constantly lets the charge to go 99% then charge a bit more then lose charge to 99% etc. and this damages the battery life.

Please educated people clear my confusions about this. Thank you all in advance and I hope that your family and yourselves are safe from Coronavirus.
