My Sister has a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 phone, using MIUI 11 on Android 10.

Unfortunately, the System shows small lags randomly, I've got the same phone and OS but don't suffer from this problem so it's probably my sister's apps.

We searched the internet and now we know that android 8+ added restrictions that third-party apps can't show RAM,CPU usage per app without rooting the device.

A thread told me about "Running Services" option in Developer Options but I can't find that "Running Services" option.

I also saw this question but it's very old and battery usage showed that Screen,Youtube,Whatsapp and chrome have the most battery usage but that's because my sister uses them a lot not because they're the ones hogging the system.

So how to know which app is slowing down the phone in our case ? do we have to root the device ? we prefer not to go to rooting.

  • Apps cannot access /proc but you can use ps, htop etc. from adb shell. – Irfan Latif Sep 19 '20 at 18:16
