I have a problem with a hidden app named "Epic Games Verifier". I cannot uninstall the app because it's not an app on the home page, and when I click the app in the app list under Settings > Apps, it navigates back to the previous screen (never lets me see the details). When I enable developer mode and click the entry for Epic Games Verifier, it navigates back and doesn't show me the details. I also cannot even access the Device Administrators section as well.

I have never seen this before and don't see anything online. Is the only option to remove it to reset the phone? I never seen anything like this...

  • Sounds like malware how did you install this app? Check the security settings if this app is registered as "device admin". If it is try to disable it. – Robert Nov 3 '20 at 8:10
  • Also, try getting the package name and uninstalling it using ADB. – Andrew T. Nov 3 '20 at 11:22
  • @Robert yeah it won't let me access that. I don't know what is going on, but you might be right. It's my son's phone, so I don't know what he did to it... – Brian Mains Nov 3 '20 at 11:46

If the device (you have not mention manufacturer and model) has a "safe mode" boot into it (in this mode all 3rd party apps can't run). There you can remove device admin from the app and uninstall it. – Robert Nov 3 '20 at 12:10
  • @Robert Yeah that was it. Thanks! – Brian Mains Nov 4 '20 at 20:05
