Can I make a "force close" shortcut in my home screen? I have a root access.

I want to combine these apps in that file - Facebook, Instagram, Viber. So whenever I click that file on my home screen, those app will be force closed.

I'm asking this on system level, android raw code or something, not 3rd party apps. I can use Tasker or others but I want just raw button with code in it if it is possible.

Thanks

  • To add a user defined shortcut on home screen you need an app that provides functionality of exporting a shortcut to your launcher app. Android as an OS doesn't provide any such app that would create and export a user's custom shortcut to their default launcher. So it all comes to using a third-party app to create and export shortcut, or using your default launcher app to create, customize and add shortcut to home screeen without needing any third-party app. The latter you would probably won't find because that doesn't fit the usage criteria home launchers generally focuses.

  • okay, let's skip home screen part, what about just shortcut code to be saved in any location, i.e downloads? I imagine it like, cmd file in Windows, don't know what file it will be in Android/or can it be opened? thanks

  • A file manager needs explicit support/feature to run a shell script. You can store your script but it won't run when you would tap on it. I am not aware of any file manager that provides feature where one can tap on a shell script and it would be executed.

  • As is the case with Android/iOS ecosystem, you need an app to do anything! Get a third-party such as Tasker/Termux/Terminal Emulator to do the original job you asked for. They can export a shortcut to homescreen too.
