I just did a factory reset on my phone. And it shows this option.enter image description here

It asks to set my SD card as portable storage or internal storage. Any option I choose, it demands to format my SD card.

I tried to put the SD card in another phone. But it still asks the same questions. Please help. I don't want to lose my data.

  • So you have something on the SD-card you don't want to delete? What file-system is used on the sd-card? If it is exFAT make sure your phone really supports this file-system. Otherwise re-format it to FAT32 (limits the maximum file-size to 4GB).

  • Formatting result in data loss. your data is probably already lost. After factory reset, MicroSD Card formatted as adoptable-storage (1st option) won't work any longer because of missing encryption key. If your MicroSD Card is not encrypted but formatted as portable storage (2nd option) buy card reader for PC and try to recover files
