I've got the following:

  1. An Android 9 phone with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC enabled.
  2. An Android 11 phone with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC enabled.

The phones are right next to each other. Both are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Even in these ideal circumstances, the old phone does not see the new one in Settings → Google → Set up and restore → Set up nearby device. It just says "Searching for devices" for about a minute before reporting "No devices found". What else do I need to do to sync the old phone to the new one?

It's not the same issue as this one because there are different Android versions involved.

  • A lot of Wifi routers are configured to disallow communication between Wifi devices but I am not sure if this would make a difference in your situation.
