I'm trying to use Better Terminal Emulator Pro after rooting my device. I successfully accepted the superuser prompt, but when I open it I get this message:

[BTEP: PID=2540 exited with code : 255] export PATH=/data/local/bin: permission denied

What should I do?

My phone's specifications are

Model number:WM8650
Android Version: 2.2
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9-default
Build number: generic-eng2.2 froyo ver 1.5.2.7-20111230.100739

  • Does root work properly with other apps? Have you tried a different terminal emulator app?

  • You fairly need to re-root again.

Make sure you have SuperSU installed from playstore. You mentioned root checker said not proper root access, means it didn't ask access to check. I highly recommend SuperSU instead of Superuser etc.
