Updated my Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 (att) today. Now I can't connect to Wifi, or even find my home network, unless I turn off mobile data. I tried calling att tech support, they suggested factory reset. It's not my router as my laptop and game systems are connecting just fine. S3 connected before update. Next step is Samsung tech support but from what I've read online my best bet for a solution is here. Anyone have a fix for this? One that does not involve a factory reset.

Edited to add I updated via OTA. No other problems... So far.

  • Factory re... sorry! This is a bit of a shot in the dark: Check the WiFi advanced settings and check if 'Auto Network Switch' is enabled. It is meant to just swap from WiFi and mobile if your wifi is unstable... However it is causing me endless hassle as every connection is unstable according to it. Also you have Samsung Knox installed now (sadly) and it seems to hate WiFi and Bluetooth being accessed on some firmward, are you getting any notifications? Can you enable ADB and get a logcat of what is happening when you try and turn on the WiFi? – RossC Dec 18 '13 at 13:00
  • I'm not getting any notifications regarding Wifi when mobile data is enabled. I get all other notifications though, if that makes a difference. "Auto Network Switch" is disabled. I have no idea what ADB is, nor logcat...nor how to do that. I'm really new to all this. I do however, have a screenshot of what happens when I try to connect to WiFi when mobile data is enabled.... – Belladonna Dec 18 '13 at 19:48
