I have rooted, and installed CWM on my ICS TPT. (Don't you just luurve those TLA's?)

So now I'd like to install a custom ROM. There is an alpha version of CyanogenMod 9.2, which apparently works well. I'm wondering what there is available in terms of other ROMS - is there anything, for example, which will give a 4.4 (KitKat) experience? Is there some way I can download source code and compile a ROM for myself (the way I used to compile Linux kernels)?

And do I need nvflash to install, or just the ROM manager tool?

Thanks!

  • In the end I just downloaded that alpha version of CyanogenMod, used adb to push it to /mnt/sdcard on the device, and loaded it from ClockworkMod recovery. And it works like a charm - how wonderful, to have even more control than I did previously! – Alasdair McAndrew Mar 15 '14 at 7:02

You've asked three questions here. This site works best if you ask one at a time: right now, if someone only knows the answers to two of your questions, they'll probably be put off answering at all. – Dan Hulme Mar 17 '14 at 10:17
