I've got a fairly odd problem and have not been able to find a solution for months...

I have n Asus MeMO pad HD 7 (ME173X) running Android 4.2.2 which usually does just fine connecting to Wi-fi to and running apps that depend on an internet connection (e.g Facebook, Google Play Store, etc.)

However, if and only if it is connected to my home router, a D-link DIR-836L, internet dependent apps perform horribly. That is, except for the built-in browser, Chrome browser, and pinging web servers via a terminal emulator.

I know this may be a terrible question...

Any thoughts?

  • This may be a problem with the network setup at home....it is odd that browsers work fine, but it's possible that they need the internet less than whatever apps you're using....good luck! – Shokhet Jul 24 '14 at 2:21
  • What does "perform horribly" mean? What actually happens? – Dan Hulme Jul 24 '14 at 9:50
  • And do you have any other devices that work well on the same Wi-Fi network? – Dan Hulme Jul 24 '14 at 9:50
