Recently I got a KitKat 4.4.2 phone. I have made a Google account and I started to back up my photos on that account.

I am getting lower and lower on device storage (sd card is full) and I need to delete some photos so I tried to delete them using Gallery (phone's default app) but nothing happened. In the Photos app the photos are still there and on my PC they are also visible. How can I delete photos from the internal storage but keep them on Google servers? Edit: first of all, i have tried to delete them from Gallery ( native to the phone ) . after the 2nd opening of the gallery , they were still there. After that i have tried to delete them from the PC ( more exactly - google+ account - photos ) . my phone is a Vodafone 4g Turbo Edit2: google+ backup. I have read that there are 2 apps to backup buy they do the same thing. ( google+ and photos )

  • What exactly did you do when you tried to delete them? And what phone do you have? Manufacturers often replace the stock Gallery app with their own. Please edit your question to add this information. – Dan Hulme Aug 13 '14 at 16:38
  • What kind of backup application are you using drive or any other? – user285oo6 Aug 14 '14 at 10:28
