How to hard reset a Pipo S2 tablet?

I know there are 2 steps:

  1. Get into the part where the tablet shows you the "dead" android icon.

  2. Get into the real menu from which you can choose to do an HARD RESET and any more options.

After several hours I've managed to get into step 1 by pressing (VOL +) then (reset button) while holding (VOL +) for 5-10 sec more. I've tried a lot of combinations to get into step 2, but no success. I can't get into the menu to hard reset the tablet.

If you can't boot the tablet and hard reset it in the settings, you could try to flash the official software using a computer and the tools/image available at http://pipo.cn/En This also does a hard reset. You can put the tablet in download mode by holding one of the hardware keys and pressing reset while connected to the PC with an USB cable.

  • Just take care to download the correct firmware for your device. I bricked my M9 by experimenting. – matega Aug 27 '14 at 10:55

  1. Get into the part where the tablet shows you the "dead" android icon.

For this step, press "Reset" button and while holding it press "Volume Up". Hold them together for around 5 seconds.

  1. Get into the real menu from which you can choose to do an HARD RESET and any more options.

For this step, press "Power + Volume Up + Volume Down" button all together, twice.

When you enter hard reset mode, use "Volume Up" and "Volume Down" buttons to navigate through menu, and "Power" button to select.

  • OP said -- I've tried a lot of combinations to get into step 2 -- I can't say whether your advice has already been tried by OP with no success, but certainly, you would have come across this advice on web at certain point (excluding own experiment). Could you cite the source here? – Firelord May 10 '15 at 17:12
