Hopefully someone can help me.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II and I want to record with my external mic (rode smartlav+) but still listen to all audio from my phone via bluetooth. (Sena 20s).

For example:

  • All outbound audio -> Bluetooth device
  • All inbound -> external mic

Is that possible?

You might wish to take a look at SoundAbout. This app lets you chose which sound to route where, and more:

SoundAbout SoundAbout SoundAbout

  • Route the media audio to (Built-In speaker, Wired Headphones, Wired Headset (with mic), Earpiece, Aux Digital(HDMI), Bluetooth(A2DP), Bluetooth(mono), Bluetooth(mono)(dynamic), Dock(Analog), Dock(Digital)). (Some outputs are enabled for the PRO VERSION only)
  • Similarly Phone call audio - (Pro version)

Plus control...

  • Text-To-Speech behavior...(Android 4.0+)(Pro version)
  • Notification behavior
  • Wired Headset behavior
  • Bluetooth behavior - (Pro version)
  • Dock behavior

There's a free test version (linked above). The Pro version is available for about US$ 3.

  • Didnt quite seem to work, keeps either going from my bluetooth mic or handset mic and wont ever use my external mic. – Mik Oct 22 '14 at 5:01
  • Could be a bug you've spotted (or a missing feature otherwise). As that would perfectly match here: have you tried contacting the dev about it? – Izzy Oct 22 '14 at 14:42
  • I will try contacting the dev. – Mik Oct 23 '14 at 5:29
  • Apparently Android doesn't really allow splitting the audio input source from the audio output source. So I'm out of luck :( – Mik Oct 23 '14 at 5:31
