I've been having authentication issues on the google play store for a while now while using my tablet. I have a Galaxy tab II 10.1, My phone authenticates just fine. I just reset the password on the account and can log into my account without issue on my Phone and on my PC, but not the tablet.

I reset the tablet back to factory defaults completely wiping it of all software and account information, but I still have the same issue. Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • A solution that has worked for me is to delete the last two lines of /etc/host but you need root for that

  • Could you please use a different network to access it (probably a WiFi) and check the same. If still it doesn't work, let us see.

Authentication Issues? This could be any number of things and topics:

Google Authenticator Issues:
Are the authentication codes the same on your phone and tablet (Do they show the same code and refresh together)?
Just try again
1. Make sure you have the correct time on you tablet and its best to enable Automatic date & time but for this to work make sure your tablet has internet
2. On the Google authenticator security settings Link page and select 'Authenticator' Then select 'Switch Devices' then scan the same barcode on both devices and setup the authenticator

Google Account Problem:
If it a problem with signing in to Gmail (Google Accounts) then there is literally millions of errors it could be, so please put a bit more info in your question
