I have an Android tablet (Torque Droidz Duo Slim). It has 2GB of internal memory and a 2GB SD-Card. I also have bought and been using an 8GB SD-Card but the device does not recognize the external SD-Card. It always says "Not enough memory", although I still have 5GB of free space on my external SD-Card.

Why does it still say the phone has insufficient memory?

  • Depending on the device, you may need to reformat the SD card to a particular particular formfactor. Read the User Manual for your device, sometimes the OEM will have their own utility tool provided to do so. – Arctiic Feb 28 '20 at 23:11

Ok i used to have a ACER B1-720 and it wouldn't recognise my SD-Card saying SD-Card removed unexpectedly, even though it was never taken out! BUt to solve your problem this is what I would suggest:
Go to the settings (Go home, go into app drawer and click on settings)
Click on Storage
Scroll down to the bottom, If it says Unmount SD card then it is low on storage on your SD card, if it says mount SD card press it and if nothing happens, then your device doesnt work with this SD card, so you should take it in to a local electr

This is what it should look like:

Some times this is the only solution, change SD Card, i tried with another different and it works perfectly.
