This link to wikipedia shows a list of Android devices. If you scroll down to the table with the section headed Released, Installed devices you will see a list of smartphones. I would recommend clicking on Version twice, to sort with the latest Android version eg2.2 ( and consequently newer phones) at the top.
You will notice that the Evo 4g and the Galaxy S are near the top. This should help to narrow down your choices.
