I've got multiple apps from the Amazon store which strangely won't open any more. The icon is replaced by a transparent default Android icon with "SD" next to it and if I try to open it says "Application not installed". The Android Application Manager does not list the applications, but the Amazon store says:
"on device but not installed by amazon appstore"
It appears that the Amazon Store stupidly does not include any ability to uninstall. I did not even know before today that the OS provided a way to uninstall because I have always used e.g. the Google Play Store to uninstall apps I installed from there.
I would like to only delete the app from one account. That is, I have a parental account and an account for my child on the device. I want to delete it from my account, but not my child's.
Anyway, apparently to uninstall you have to go to the Amazon web site, but when I do that it only offers the choice to archive or delete. Archive doesn't uninstall, it just removes it from the "cloud". When I try to delete, it tells me that if I delete the app I will lose it and have to repurchase it from the store again later if I want to install again. I don't want this either!
How do uninstall these apps from my device?
