Are Xoom files automatically transferred to a newly added microSD card?
The files on the SD card are most likely there from the previous handset. Android won't automatically move any files when it detects a new sd card.

Problem detecting micro SDHC card
Not all equipment which uses SD cards can use SDHC cards. It may be that your device doesn't support the sdhc card you are using.
