The Google Play Games app is a social hub for gaming on Android, which was first released on the 24th of July 2013.

You can browse your games, track your achievements across multiple devices and join multiplayer games from it. It uses the Google Play Game Services (previously announced in May 2013) and services for the sharing and multiplayer matching.

It acts as a one-stop location for all Android gaming, with thumbnails of friends also playing on the platform. Users can discover new games by seeing what friends are playing, plus the app provides easy access to multiplayer games.

Leaderboards display game progress, with a look at performance against Google Play Games friends, as well as a public leaderboard for other players.

All games on your device are listed in the game browser list, but games need to be specifically modified to take advantage of the new Play Game Services features in the app such as leaderboards, achievements and multiplayer matching.
