You should be able to do this natively. Android 3.0 (and below): In your launcher, press and hold on a blank area and click "Shortcuts". Select "Drive Shortcut", then your document, and it will create a link for you. Android 4.0 (and above) Open your app drawer and jump to the Widgets section. Swipe until you get to "Drive Shortcut". Here is a slightly different take on Mike's answer, with screenshots: (Click an image to enlarge it) Open the Drive app (not the app for the specific document type; this won't work in the Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc. apps) Click the 3 dots (or touch-and-hold) to open the context menu on the document Scroll down if needed and click "add to homescreen"

There's no built-in functionality for this, but there are a handful of third-party launchers that support locking the desktop. Off the top of my head, I know that both Apex Launcher and ADW.Launcher do. For Apex, simply double tap on an empty space on the home screen and then select "Lock Desktop" to prevent icons from being added or removed. On ADW....

Sounds like you tapped into some spam trap. Certain apps place advertisements this way -- though the new playstore rules do no longer allow that. Others do the same in the notification area. Airpush is the best known evil source of such. I suggest you scan your device for such apps. Try e.g. with TrustGo Ad Detector. Quoting from the apps description: It ...

If they're on your home screen then long press them and drag them to the trash can on the screen. Depending on what phone you have and what version of Android it's running the trash can be in a different place. On the image below the trash can is at the bottom of the screen however I think on Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean it's at the top. If you want to ...

This happened on my Nexus - you just have to reboot your device, and the Icon will show up. Most likely Niantic changed the Launcher activity, so the short cut is no longer pointing to the correct activity, hence the error message. Rebooting the device/restarting the launcher, and then re-adding the home screen shortcut will fix this.

Same happened to me on my NOTE 3, and what I found was I had inadvertently TURNED OFF the CONTACTS app. On Samsung phones go to Settings, General tab, Application Manager scroll to the last page labeled "TURNED OFF". Click on the app you need to turn on and select Turn On. That did it for me.

Not for a specific person -- but still a shortcut, which simply opens the "compose new mail" screen: Compose Mail Shortcut. There's also Send Mail Shortcut which, from the name, sounds to exactly fit your purpose -- but as it helds no description at all, it's hard to tell. Last but not least: Mail Linker even seems to fit right from its description. ...

I don't think it's possible to add a shortcut to the "add reminder" card at the moment. I've had a look through the Activities as well and none of them appear to do what you want. There is a "Set reminder" option in the menu within Google Now which may help? Click the three dots at the bottom right (you might need to scroll down) and you should see the "Set ...

You can't with the stock launcher, but in Nova Launcher you can multi-select apps in the Add to Home screen list and add them all at once to either the home screen or a folder. I've also read that LG Lucid's default launcher has a customization that adds this feature. There may be other launchers that can do it, but those are the only ones I know of.

That's because they are sorted alongside all the widgets. That's not very intuitive but at least they're here!

App specific settings are usually stored in the internal storage folder accessible only to that app. While apps do have the ability to write to external storage and lose access to that data when you mount it, I doubt that is the case here. When you install and move an app to the SD Card, you are not moving the entire app. Some core content of the app still ...

Yes. This is possible Use 1-vpn app which lets you do this. But, it's not compatible with Android 4.0+, and you have to pay for it (only a $0.90). If the payment is worth the burden you go through every time you connect, that's your best option. Alternatively you can use 5-vpn which is free and requires you to go through 5 taps to connect.
