I was facing a similar error with the Nexus 5. Safe mode and wiping the cache partition were not working for me. People also complaining about not be able to use the adb commands because the phone does not connect.
One option I read about was doing a factory reset. This is probably not the preferred option so I found another one. This worked for me although ...
Although difficult to generalize, in a pretty good number of cases, using a lock screen PIN/password is not going to be sufficient to prevent someone from wiping your phone and/or flashing it with a new ROM. It may be an effective enough deterrent to prevent them from accessing your personal data, but there are a few considerations that go along with that, ...
This feature is called Moto Display and is very similar to AOSP's ambient display.
Assuming it is in the same place as the Moto G 2015 and Moto X Pure devices, open the Moto app, go to Feature Settings (the 3 stars in the upper right corner) and then select Display and turn the slider off.
Had same problem. I believe the adaptive brightness auto adjust it to zero light.
I use another phone flash light and direct it on the the front camera and light sensor. Unlocking with power button awaken my screen with adjusted brightness..
Hope this will help...
Short answer: yes and no.
Using three accounts won't run the battery down in itself: by far the bigger factor is how much activity there is. To take an example, Gmail uses push messages (via Google Cloud Messaging, GCM) to notify your phone of new mail, so the phone doesn't have to repeatedly poll the server for new messages for each account.
Because of ...
There isn't an easy way, but still, it might be possible. The keyword to it is File carving (find some more links on this topic in our data-recovery tag-wiki).
Make sure to not have any modifications/changes going on on your device, or at least as few as possible! Each change (written file etc.) lowers your chances of a successful recovery.
A crucial pre-...
Fastboot allows you to send commands to your phone while in the bootloader. The bootloader is the one place that ADB is not running.
Disclaimer, not all of these may work with your device.
fastboot oem unlock
Unlock your bootloader. If your device supports this, you can unlock your bootloader here. Most phones require an exploit in order to gain root ...
Summarized from Motorola forum, Moto G and Moto X are designed in such a way that it will take the message center number automatically from the Saved configuration of the SIM. Try changing the SIM from Slot 1 to Slot 2. Save and set as default for newly received configuration settings.
You can try the following method by SmaRkieS on Android Geeks:
Proper research would have prevented this, in the future if you need information on rooting a device, go to a REPUTABLE source like XDA or a similar forum and make sure the information is specific to your device AND the current Android version. Lollipop, Marshmallow, and now Nougat are changing the way rooting is being done.
All retail/unlocked Moto devices ...
From what I can see in the video, the fluctuations are within about 1° in the first app, and 0.5° in the second. That's not exactly "random numbers in a wide range".
Accuracy within 1° is acceptable for most intended use cases: Mobile games, screen orientation, gestures, etc. It's quite possible that Motorola decided to use a cheaper sensor since the phone ...
Open up the PlayStore, open menu and select settings.
Select second option from the top auto-update apps. Then chose if you want to update from just WiFi or incur data charges.
Sooner or later apps that have updates will want to update.
You can also go into the apps and select auto update if available.
If you long press on either hangout (MOIP or SMS), then press on the other one you should get an option to merge them. This should then give you the option to send either from the same hangout.
There is also a setting within Settings > SMS to Enable merged conversations which needs to be enabled.
As it's obviously the stock recovery you've used to flash CM, that won't work as it will do a signature check and thus reject the ZIP as being invalid. So here's what you do instead:
put cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K9-falcon.zip onto your device's SD card
boot into bootloader
now boot (not install) TWRP: fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-0-falcon.img
TWRP will ...
Yeah this happens on Moto X too. You can long press on the notification and click on App Info. Then force stop the application that posted the notification (System UI). Doing so doesn't seem to affect anything else. Annoying we have to do that but better than restarting phone.
The most likely cause is that your PC can't supply enough current over the USB connection to charge your phone while it's awake. Smartphones draw a lot of power these days, so their chargers use extensions to the USB standard to supply more power, so they can charge even while the phone is in use. Most PCs don't support these extensions, so they can't.
Well, I would say I don’t think you can’t do anything about it because the forgot password button isn’t available with the Lollipop , now what you are left with is you can try unlocking your device with the help of your Google account i.e. Log yourself over the Google account you are using over Laptop/PC once done head over to the Android device manager and ...
Under "Mobile network settings", I switched "Preferred network type" from 3G to 2G, and rebooted the phone. I was then able to make calls again.
Then I switched back to 3G and rebooted, and it still works.
When you mentioned the "app is not listed in 'My Apps' section", do you mean the 'Installed', 'My Apps' section or the 'All' 'My Apps' section?
I think they should be listed in the 'All' section, and therefore, you won't be able to add them to your wishlist because you already have them, even if they aren't installed.
If you go to the 'All' section in ...
As beeshyams pointed out in comments, the software doesn't control which endpoint is the host and which is the peripheral: the hardware itself controls it. On a phone that doesn't have a USB-A port, you use a USB-OTG cable or adapter. This has a "host end" and a "peripheral end". (On the early USB-OTG cables, it was hard to tell which is which, but on an ...
This Battery University Article has a summary that states the following
•A portable device should be turned off while charging. This allows the battery to reach the threshold voltage unhindered and reflects the correct saturation current responsible to terminate the charge. A parasitic load confuses the charger.
•Charge at a moderate temperature. Do not ...
There will be an app called BrowserMessage in your phone. To disable that go to Settings > Apps > All > Select the BrowserMessage app and Disable it.
Hope this helps you and whoever facing this irritation :)
Kitkat has only 3 defaults for this:
Other options can be added with 3rd Party software, e.g. ES File Exploere adds "Share over LAN".
As per the Google products page this is a know issue.
I too am annoyed that this issue is happening with the Nexus 5.I can only hope that they will have an update that will resolve this issue.I ...
The following is the way I enable additional spell checkers on my Galaxy Nexus which runs on vanilla Android 4.3, I hope it will be the same for your Moto G:
Open your app drawer and go to Settings > Language & input
Scroll down to Keyboard & Input Methods section: If your Google Keyboard is enabled, tap its settings button, if not, enable it first.
