What is a "blue screen"? Certain Android devices sometimes become unresponsive and display a plain bright blue screen with no text on it. See photo. What should be done? (This answer is based on what someone on IRC once told me.) If you only ever see a blue screen once or twice a month, ignore the problem and restart your phone when it happens. If you ...

After much struggling and right before I was just going to give up, I´ve found the solution. So Naturally, I thought best to share it here, just in case anyone else was having the same issue. The issue was: 1- I have a Nexus 7 (1º gen) that after a failed Android upgrade was infinite looping though the welcome window (right after the google logo appears). ...

The official Google Developers site has the full instructions and image repository on how to install a factory image for any Nexus device, including your "nakasi" Nexus 7 2012. I recommend 4.4.4, but you are free to go back as far as you want until you're comfortable with it's use. Cyanogenmod also has a stable 10.2 version (Android 4.3) - you can download ...

Holding down (volume up+ volume down +power button) at the same time worked for my HTC desire 826 dual sim mobile(Android 5.0.2). not worked holding down power button for more than 10 seconds or even more.

A Solution On reflection, my thoughts were 1) this seems like a software problem, possibly malware of unknown origin and 2) it seems to be interrupting the power-cycling of the phone. Therefore, before committing to sending the phone out to either HTC or Vodafone to look at, i tried my own hard-reset of the phone. Without access to remove the battery, i ...

You can use the highly functional nexus root toolkit to do pretty much anything you need to on your Nexus device. Nexus Root Toolkit It allows rooting, return to stock, recovery and everything else you would need to repair your nexus 7 2012 WiFi aka 'grouper' / 'nakasi'. You can flash custom roms with it also. Other tools include unlocking or locking ...

The question is very general but I can give you some common reasons why phones freeze and some troubleshoot steps. Do a restart by holding the power button and then press restart. Find out which apps are using the most system resources and unistall them, then check if that fixes the problem. (Common apps like this are Facebook and Facebook Messenger). This ...

It turns out it's the "smart cover" feature (the thing that displays time when you close a flip-case-with-a-window), which was misfiring probably because of the presence of a nearby magnet (likely the one in my holster's cover) or some problem in my phone's magnetic sensor. This feature can be disabled in Settings => Connected Devices => Smart Cover. ...

Believe it is the flip cover, due to faulty hall sensor. Disable in settings (after reboot) seems to be the answer. According to this post, the setting can be disabled by going Settings Connected Devices Smart cover Off

Educated guess is you have apps that are running in the background and eating up your battery. Samsung power manager app/thing is not great (at least on my sgs7 it isn't), but it's pointing you on possible culprits. Easiest way to debug is uninstall the apps and see if device acts any differently (give it a few days or a week to see). Or another way is ...

As a method of starting to debug this, Linux keeps a log for the kernel. I'm not sure if /proc/last_kmsg is there or not, but you want the kernel log. I'd start by replacing the stock recovery with TWRP. Whether or not you want to Flash to a different rom. TWRP has a file browser. It should let you save the kernel's log either way. You want to pay attention ...

My suggestion? Flash a custom ROM. I have an enemity with stock ROMs I've not managed to attribute to a definite cause myself; but I can surely tell you this much: I'm using Lineage OS and I love it. I wouldn't know if the hardware limitations of your device will create a problem with third party ROMs. But Lineage OS is the lightest of operating systems as ...

Since you confirmed it's the launcher, this isn't too bad of a fix. Open settings, go to apps, then swipe to all. Scroll until you find an app called Laucher. This is actually your home screen. WARNING! This will erase your home screen. Take screenshots if you want to put it back to the way it was! Clear the cache and data of the app. Restart your phone. ...

I recently got my Nexus 7 2012 usable and fast after 2 years resting in a drawer with rooted Lollipop using suggestions from this site (in Spanish) like disable all gestures at Language Input/Gboard and disable graphic animations in Developer mode.

What I did to improve performance on My Nexus 7 2012 (Nakasi) was to Unlock Bootloader then flashed TWRP v3.3.0, then flashed Lineage OS 14.1 (Android 7.1.2 Nougat) via TWRP, Recommended GAPPS are "opengapps pico" (arm) and to root it I flashed Magisk v18 and now it took life. Performance improve like 90% now is pretty much usable. (it's April 16 2019) so ...

Old question, but this is my beloved Nexus 7 3g (2012), "tilapia". Please note that WiFi only version is named "grouper" First step, install TWRP recovery; the official guides forgot to mention that you have to disable the fastboot lock too, command: fastboot oem unlock (and then select Yes on the confirmation screen, on tablet) Nexus 2012 TWRP ...

The Google Maps App is dependent on the Google Play Services app. Whenever you point out a location or a route, or even load a particular area of the map regularly, it records your actions so as to provide a better prediction the next time you access that particular app. Those recorded actions are linked to your Google Account through the Google Play ...

I will make some assumptions here since you don't give enough details. I think that by stuck on boot you mean you soft bricked your phone but yes it weird if you don't mess around with root or other things and that just mean that if an factory reset + wipe cache don't work( and often won't ) you need to reflash the stock ROM again. By "hard reset" you mean ...

1

If it is stuck in bootloop, I suspect corruption in /system. You should either reinstall the stock ROM or install a custom one. The first thing you will need is a custom recovery. According to this post by flowish at XDA-Developers, you can do this by follwing these steps: Download the recovery (recommended latest build) extract and put to your /...

I had this problem recently and solved it by removing old saved networks in the WiFi settings. I found that there were a huge number of networks with names that were strings of letters and numbers. To remove saved networks open 'Settings' and choose 'Wi-Fi' (and wait for it to load). From the 3-dot menu choose 'Saved networks'. You should see a list of ...

Found the combination to enter the recovery mode. Holding the power button and volume up - after 10 seconds the tablet shuts down, after 5 more seconds shows "service menu". First for half a second there appears a standing android with spinning blue thing in front of him, and after half a second there appears a lying android with open bonnet and a red ...

Looks like the ROM has the wrong drivers for your hardware. Most likely, this ROM is for an SGS2 with the exynos4 SoC, but your SGS2 has a different SoC. Be aware that Samsung sells different hardware in the same case with the same name: only the model number is different. Double-check whether the ROM is for exactly the same variant of the SGS2 that you have....
