This is the log I got from adb logcat when the TV is at sleep mode:

ADB is highly possible to be disconnected after the last line is printed.

Android version: 10

Kernal version: 4.19.75

Because everytime this happens I see different PID for PowerHAL, I guess the TV is actaully being rebooted fequently?

Does anyone know what could possibly be the reason, or how can I troubleshoot this issue?

As the last message contains PRE_POWER_OFF I would assume that this is intended behavior may be for saving power. So from my perspective the question should rather be why does the TV wake-up so frequently...

Figured it out myself.

The TV has three modes for remote power on:

  1. Off
  2. Through network
  3. Through application (ADB)

If you choose the third option, the TV periodically "pre-power on" itself so that the user can send an ADB command to it to actually turn on the screen, which causes my HDMI cable periodically receiving signals of a new device.

(still not sure why the TV can't be always "pre-powered on")

But if you choose the second option, everything is fine.
