Stack Exchange network consists of 183 Q&A communities including Stack Overflow, the largest, most trusted online community for developers to learn, share their knowledge, and build their careers.
Just as a comment: I change networks often but I still want to arrange for my devices to know each others' addresses, so this isn't a general solution. It would be better if Android supported Zeroconf.
