I've been a developer since I was 7. My elementary school teacher wheeled in Apple //e computers once a week and had us programming in basic. I've been programming ever since.
I've worked at Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, NASA, Zillow, and others, started a couple companies, and contracted at a variety of smaller or non-tech focused companies. I've been an instructor and was the primary technical reviewer of a tech book. Nothing that I say here is the opinion of my employer. In fact, the opinions are not even mine, they are those of my dog - the one on the right; the one on the left has radical opinions about programming I could never support.
At last count I've programmed in over 25 languages. I like to joke that I have forgotten more languages than most people ever learn.
