Easy to fix. Just hard-press on the desktop until the query for Wallpapers, Widgets, Settings shows up. Select Widgets, and select (what on my list is #1) - Nova Action. Once placed, it turns into a menu with "App drawer" as the first choice, along with about 30 others. Once you have it selected, move it to your desired spot, either on the desktop, or in the ...
Edit the folder from within the app drawer as if you were editing an app. (Long press the folder and drag it to the "Edit" option at the top).
From there you can check/uncheck which tab(s) you wish for it to appear in.
I think it shoud be in your lockscreen settings and there should be an option to disable or enable status bar on lockscreen.
My phone has it I think yours should have too.
Its a privacy keeping feature.
As a developer, I believe it's because there are no GUI that are set to appear on the launcher (example: "Contacts Storage" only stores contacts, and it's shown as an app in "All" apps).
This is backed-up by dez93_2000's answer on another question,
This app has no inbuilt GUI link on many builds. You can use the app Sound Recorder Shortcut by KN Inc to ...
Fixed, thanks to XDA thread-Default launcher resets every time i use the google now pointed out beeshyams.
As recommended in that thread, I installed an app called Launcher Switcher and I found one app acting like launcher (in addition to Nova and default launcher), in my case that was "MMITest", I just removed that app with System app remover (ROOT)
For anyone searching: Fennec Fdroid can do that with a little detour. Create a bookmark for any page and then edit that bookmark -- you can then enter any URL you like. For the bookmark, you can create a shortcut on the launcher afterwards.
what is its source: is it caused by recent change to Contacts or Nova Prime?
Rahul in comments has pointed the reason (thanks Rahul). It is an OS feature introduced from Oreo (and the likely reason you didn't see it earlier- service folks must have upgraded it while under repair). For more see Android Developers : shortcuts overview
is there any ...
It looks like the upgrade messed up the default home app setting. Good news: it's really easy to fix:
Settings / Apps & Notifications / Advanced / Default apps / Home app
After the uprade, this screen showed two launchers (Nova Launcher and Quickstep), none of which is selected as default.
Select the Nova Launcher, and live happily ever after.
Also, it ...
Nova Launcher has dozens of settings for its Home Screen layout and personalization. Included is a Notification bar setting, which allows the device owner to hide it on the Home Screen.
It can be found under the Look & feel settings.
Change the state of Show notification bar to experiment to taste.
Seems like a spying apps which can install in stealth mode and never being detected.
Try with ADB commands to check if it appears in the list of installed apps and eventually delete it.
Download Minimal ADB and fastboot . Unzip and run it. (Windows machines)
On the phone, enable USB debugging in Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging. If the ...
This is a thing to do with the Secure/Smart Lock setup. When using third party apps the system will default to the "primary" method (whatever you set as backup to finger print whether it is PIN, Password, or the draw on the screen gesture lock). The only way I have seen to get around this is to grant root access to your Home Launcher (Nova does allow this ...
I don't believe this is possible. According to this Reddit post it is not possible when writing an app as the Chrome code ignores the request if it is not Chrome initiating it, so an app or user cannot trigger the incognito tab. I assume the same applies when trying to launch the activity 'manually'.
So what these are doing, is checking whether the intent ...
Any icon pack (not themes like Cyanogen Mod themes for example) can only apply to launchers and apps not the Android system itself.
(Except that the system supports icon packs which is not common in official ROMs.)
And Nova Launcher (like most launchers if not all of them) only displays the home screen and the app drawer, anything other than that (like ...
You can use an automation app here.
Setup a flow like this:
Location of relevant blocks:
Interface → Screen Orientation?
Settings → Wallpaper image set
After setting it up, make sure to install the permission it asks for - set wallpaper.
This worked in my COS12 and PA build of Android 5.1 but somehow failed in Android 5....
I believe you would need to use a third-party automation app such as Tasker. Nova Launcher is listed in the Go Home section of Tasker documentation as supporting the required action Go Home.
For example, you could create a shortcut icon to a Tasker task named Switch to Right Home. The Switch to Right Home task would contain the action Go Home with parameter ...
First of all, how are you enjoying Nova launcher? There is your problem: Nova launcher replaces the home screen only. It does not alter the lockscreen. For that, you need a custom lockscreen. These often come with a lot of..... crap you don't want or need.
You can use SwipeUp Utility to change the behaviour of the search action (swiping the home button) to launch a different app or shortcut.
I've contributed to this app (I helped the author fix a bug) but I've no financial interest in it.
This is probably because the icon pack you installed does not have an icon for those apps. Icon packs only include app icons for certain apps and clearly the one you've installed does not cover many common apps. If you download another icon pack you may find that includes more icons for the apps you have installed.
Another option would be to contact the ...
